A Certified Yoga Therapist is trained to apply yoga therapeutically — adapting practice to a person's health, history, and goals rather than teaching general group classes. Kellie has held senior yoga-therapy practitioner credentials since her certification in 2007, alongside an M.S. in Food & Nutrition Science and E-RYT 500 registration with Yoga Alliance.
Kellie was also credentialed as a C-IAYT (Certified through the International Association of Yoga Therapists) from 2017 to February 2026. She now practices and lists as a Certified Yoga Therapist. Two agreements everyone signs
To join, you sign and certify your agreement to our DEIA Acknowledgement and our Lineage and Abuse Agreement. These protect students, honor tradition, and keep the directory trustworthy.
WM-licensed programming is reserved
Only Wisdom Method–certified practitioners or affiliates may teach Wisdom Method–licensed programming. You can join and teach your own work without WM certification — WM programs are the one exception.

How referral fees work
Hire.Yoga shares in the fee for the initial consultation only. After that first introduction, there is no profit-sharing, commission, or ongoing fee split on any further sessions, packages, or work arranged directly between a seeker and a professional. Once we've made the introduction, the ongoing relationship — and all of its earnings — belongs entirely to the practitioner and their client.

- Independent professionals. Everyone listed is an independent practitioner, not an employee, agent, or partner of Hire.Yoga or Wisdom Method. We do not supervise or control the services they provide.
- Verification, not warranty. We verify credentials and signed agreements before a profile goes live. Verification supports trust; it is not a warranty of competence, safety, or outcome.
- Consent-first & opt-in. Practitioners and researchers appear here only by choice. Anyone can claim, edit, or remove their own listing at any time.
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for your own decisions, including who you hire, what you pay, and how you practice. Yoga and yoga therapy are not a substitute for medical care; consult a qualified provider for medical concerns.
- Required agreements. All listed practitioners sign the DEIA Acknowledgement and the Lineage and Abuse Agreement.
- No unauthorized use. Directory content may not be copied, harvested, or re-published without consent. We honor the same standard we ask of others.

What this is — and the one rule that shapes everything
Hire.Yoga is a referral directory and matchmaking platform for yoga professionals, modeled on the bar-association lawyer-referral service. The public finds a vetted professional and pays one flat consult fee; the practitioner is paid from the first session. But there is a structural commitment underneath it.
A circular, gig-based workforce runs it
The site's own operating work — profile review, member support, content, outreach, research coordination, bookkeeping — is staffed by contractors drawn from the directory itself. Listed practitioners aren't just found through the platform; they can be paid to run it. Hire.Yoga is designed to always be a source of contract work for the people it lists.
Community-owned, not extractive
Priced to serve practitioners, crowdfunded to launch, and governed so that fee changes and platform rules answer to members — not to outside shareholders looking for a return.

We publish de-identified data on how fast the public finds help, what practitioners earn per consult, and how referrals convert to ongoing work — the numbers our field has never had.

How this is structured today — and where it's headed
Hire.Yoga is a public-benefit project, not yet a separate corporation. It's currently owned by Wisdom Method Enterprises LLC — which seed-funded it through the Wisdom Method Business Incubator — and is being transferred to Wisdom Method Media LLC shortly. That structure lets the project launch lean and stay mission-first now, while we build toward a formal community-owned form once revenue supports it. Here's the current setup and the intended path — which we'll confirm with counsel.

It is not currently a public benefit corporation, a cooperative, or a nonprofit; those are options for the future, not claims about today.

Currently owned by Wisdom Method Enterprises LLC and seed-funded through the Wisdom Method Business Incubator, with a transfer to Wisdom Method Media LLC underway. This keeps the project moving without selling equity to outsiders, while the public-benefit commitment — a modest, disclosed referral fee and no ongoing extraction — is honored in how it's run from day one.

The intent is to convert Hire.Yoga into a more durable, community-owned form — likely a public benefit corporation, potentially paired with a platform-cooperative membership model so the practitioners and workers who generate the value help govern it. Conversion happens only when the numbers make it sustainable, and only with legal counsel.

Why not a 501(c)(6) business league
Poor fit as the operating entity
Promotes a profession's common interest — but the IRS says it cannot run a regular for-profit business (even cooperatively or just to break even) or perform “particular services for individual members.” A referral service that shares a consult fee is exactly that. Possible for a future standards/education affiliate, not for the directory itself.
Why not a 501(c)(5) labor organization
Poor fit here
Exists to better workers' conditions, traditionally through collective bargaining with employers. Yoga professionals are mostly independent contractors with no single employer to bargain against, and running a paid referral marketplace isn't a customary labor-union activity. The spirit — dignified pay — is right; the legal form isn't.
This describes the project's current structure and its intended direction. It is informed context, not legal advice — any future conversion will be confirmed with a cooperative/nonprofit attorney. That's one of the first jobs on the board below.

Credentialing bodies issue the credential and charge to maintain it — but never built the paid demand to match it.
The bar-association model, applied to yoga
State bar associations don't just certify attorneys — they run lawyer-referral services that connect the public to a vetted professional for a modest, fixed consult fee. It's simple, trusted, and it puts the practitioner in front of a paying client. Yoga has the credential infrastructure but nothing like this referral infrastructure. Hire.Yoga borrows the proven model: verified minimum credentials, a flat consult fee, a fair split, and an easy front door for the public.
What we measure
As the directory grows, we'll publish transparent, de-identified data on what our field has never tracked well: how quickly the public finds a qualified professional, what practitioners actually earn per consult, which focus areas are most in demand, and how referrals convert into ongoing paid work. Evidence is the point — it's how a workforce argues for its own value.
Built alongside the Wisdom Method
Hire.Yoga is an open directory for the whole field — you do not need to be Wisdom Method Academy–trained to join. It grows next to the Wisdom Method's work to create paid, dignified jobs for yoga professionals: the Academy certifies practitioners and licenses curriculum, while Wisdom Method Talent places practitioners into paid preventive-health and resilience contracts.
A note from the founder
Hire.Yoga is founder-built and founder-funded. I've personally invested $2,500 to get it off the ground — no outside capital, no equity sold. It's an honest start, and I'm building it in the open.
US-only for now. We're launching in the United States first so we can do referrals, credential checks, and payments right. International expansion is a goal — as the community and the right support grow, we intend to open Hire.Yoga to practitioners and seekers beyond the US.

On impartial matching. I'm also a listed practitioner on Hire.Yoga. Matching runs on the same focus-area, location, and availability logic for every listing, including mine — it doesn't default or weight toward the founder. As the directory adds more practitioners and staff, review and matching decisions are meant to move to people other than me, so the directory doesn't just route people back to its own founder.
